Your California Privacy Rights
California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as S.B. 27, allows residents of California to request certain information regarding our disclosures in the prior calendar year, if any, of personally identifiable information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. Mastercard respects your privacy and does not sell or lease your data to third parties. However, when you use the Mastercard Secure Remote Commerce Services to make purchases with merchants, Mastercard provides your personal data to merchants so they can process the transaction. Some merchants may use the data they receive about you through that transaction to send you direct marketing communications without collecting your affirmative opt-in.
If you are a resident of California and would like to obtain information about the merchants who use the personal data collected through the Mastercard Secure Remote Commerce Services to directly market to you and the type of data provided to them through the Mastercard Secure Remote Commerce Services, please contact Mastercard at email@example.com and include the “Request for California Privacy Information” in the subject line of your email. Mastercard will attempt to provide you with requested information within thirty days of receipt.
